Zonta Club of Joliet

Second Annual Zonta Club of Joliet Festival of Culture a Huge Success
On September 25th, the Zonta Club of the Joliet Area hosted their second annual Festival of Culture event at the Jacob Henry Victorian Ballroom. The event featured individually-owned restaurants providing over 225 guests with small samples of food from around the globe and other activities emphasizing Zonta and the Joliet area’s diversity.

The event had a great turnout with over 250 tickets sold and total proceeds for the fundraiser exceeding $8,500.  The money raised at the festival will go towards local service projects dedicated to empowering women.

“We are so thankful to all our vendors, sponsors and to Sue Bornhofen and her staff at the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate,” said Zonta Club of Joliet President Beth Colvin.  “Without their support this event would not be possible.  We encourage the community to frequent the locations of our sponsors and vendors to return the support.”

Welcome to the Zonta Club of Joliet

The Zonta Club of Joliet is a member of Zonta International – located in Oakbrook, Illinois. Founded in 1919 in New York, it has been committed to “empower women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service and advocacy”. There are over 30,000 members in over 67 countries and we are proud to be a part of it.

Over the years our club has supported many organizations by having fundraising events for Guardian Angel Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, Prairie State Legal Services, and several others. We have supported women in their efforts to further their education by providing scholarships funds through the Jane M. Klausman, the Young Women in Public Affairs and through an endowment scholarship at Joliet Junior College.

The Zonta Club of Joliet is proud of its efforts in making a difference in the lives of women and our community. If you would like to be a part of this proud organization, please email Marilyn McSteen, Membership Chair at marilynmcsteen@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
