Zonta Club of Joliet Event Exceeds Fundraising Goal During Annual Event
The Zonta Club of Joliet exceeded their fundraising goal during the March 5th fundraiser held at the Crystal Grand in Lemont. The event drew over 225 people and included an elegant lunch, silent and live auctions, as well as raffles.  The theme of this year’s Zonta fundraiser was “Zonta Empowers Women Worldwide,”  which celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of women from all walks of life, including the 2017 Woman of Distinction, Kay Bolden.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser support local and international Zonta charities.  This year’s local charity recipient is Guardian Angel Community Services and the funding will be used to keep abused women, mothers and their children safe.

“Fundraising Co-chairs Mary Baudino, Bonnie Horne, and their committee, are to be commended for the success of this event,” said Zonta Club of Joliet President Yolanda Reyes.  “Their hard work and dedication have raised a substantial amount of money that will be used to help women.”

The Zonta Club of Joliet graciously thanks their Zonta Empowers Women Sponsors: Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, D’Arcy Buick-GMC, Hammond Horne Team, and Coldwell Banker Honig Bell; Zonta Makes the Difference Sponsors: ExxonMobil, Helen and J.D. Ross; and Zonta Friend Sponsors: Johanna Rux & Associates and Walco Tool & Engineering.
